Plus 12 and dry when driving in.

We were delighted for Penny Perriss as her Wandrin Star absolutely bolted up at Bangor yesterday in the Novice handicap chase.. when I say bolted up I mean he won, pulling up, by 22 lengths.

It was a  stunning performed and one that we will probably regret when he is re handicapped next Tuesday.. I will be issuing wing mirrors to Mikey Hamill next time he rides one of my horses!

Normally when a horse wins like that, and knowing the handicapper is going to have his say, you would try and run again quickly; but the ground at Bangor was only just good (watered) and I would not be keen to risk a run on that sort of ground again.. rain wanted..

The good news is that he seems fine this morning.

Mat who represented me at Bangor yesterday was staggered by how well our owners were looked after.. Racing at Bangor as an owner is a must.

Not everything went swimmingly yesterday as poor Ben Love, who was meant to be in Newmarket today on an assessment course for his conditional license, had a fall yesterday and has broken a bone in his elbow.. Ben had an operation this morning to pin and plate it and will be out of action for at least 2 months..

We jumped quite a few horses on the all weather this morning. Bad morning for photography...

Norman Carter was here to see his horse Diamond Gait perform..

Richard Chugg was here to discuss Insurance issues..

Clare, Mat and I are headed to Warwick for lunch ..

No runners, but John Webber and Richard Sheppard (Robin The Raven and Winter Glory) were hosting a lunch for a large number of customers of Colliers..

They also  sponsored the main race ‘The Colliers International Rating Services Handicap Chase’. Sadly for them that the card’s short of runners as the ground has played havoc with the number of horses running through the card.

Start singing..

I was born under a wandrin’ star,
I was born under a wandrin’ star.
Wheels are made for rollin’
Mules are made to pack.

I’ve never seen a sight that didn’t look better looking back.
I was born under a wandrin’ star.
Mud can make you prisoner, and the plains can bake you dry.
Snow can burn your eyes, but only people make you cry.

Home is made for comin’ from, for dreams of goin’ to,
Which with any luck will never come true.
I was born under a wandrin’ star,
I was born under a wandrin’ star.

Do I know where hell is? Hell is in hello.
Heaven is in goodbye for ever, it’s time for me to go.
I was born under a wandrin’ star, a wandrin’ wandrin’ star.

When I get to heaven tie me to a tree,
Or I’ll begin to roam, and soon you know where I will be.
I was born under a wandrin’ star, a wandrin’ wandrin’ star.
