Plus 10 and dry when driving in.

Yesterday at Uttoxeter Aliandy ran well on his first attempt over hurdles to finish 2nd, while up at Carlisle By The Boardwalk was a disappointing 3rd.. The ground could have been too quick for his liking, either that or the handicapper has finally caught up with him.. up 38lbs since his first win over fences. Both horses are fine this morning.

Well done to Carlisle, your owner experience was brilliant. A top, well run racecourse who appreciate their support from owners and trainers..... John Perriss and Mat were well looked after and had a great day, even though there was no winner to help celebrate.

Further horse news..West End has been sold to go out of the yard. WE has been bought by Nick Sutton for his son Ben to ride in point to points; lucky boy as WE will make a fabulous pointer.

We shall miss WE’s cheeky face; he has been a lovely horse to train although at times frustrating, but he gave his owner Dan Hall some fun days. WE has been replaced and now Dan has Policy Breach to look forward to.

Last night Clare and I had supper with Michael and Angie Storey. Always fun and always good food, wine and company. Michael's Savage Selected  wines provided some interesting drinking, although I am not sure a late night is the perfect way to start the day!!

This morning we worked Charbel, Policy Breach, Taras Rainbow, Knockanrawley, Same Ole Trix and The Scarlett Woman.

Alice Dorman started her horse clipping this morning; she will be busy for a few weeks..

Sue Edwards, Hannah Ashton, Fiona Turner and Daisy Major were here for a morning on the gallops and breakfast as bought through at a local Wooden Spoon charity auction. It was their third attempt to organise this morning as I have cancelled them twice!

Yesterday the Test match against Pakistan slipped to new levels of boredom. Our captain played well and is still, but why would anybody want to go and watch cricket played on a pitch like that..Not good for the game.

I have a runner on the flat at Haydock this afternoon. Nam Hai runs with Willie Twiston Davies on top.. Can Willie add to the families tally? Father and his brother have both ridden winners for me.. Talking that have you noticed anything different on my home page? For my thoughts on Nam Hai's chances please click here..
