7th May 2024

Plus 10 and foggy when driving in. A wet night with thunderstorms..5mm..

Fun to be back on a racecourse for the new season.. We have all had a wonderful break/holiday since the last jump season, and yesterday we all returned fresh and bouncing (unless of course you were at Uttoxeter or Hexham on Saturday) for the new 2024/2025 season..

Warwick yesterday was packed. There was a really good crowd who all seemed to be having fun. Warwick is such an improved racecourse since it became a jumps only track.. Flat racing there just did not seem to work?

Our runner Jeudidee was rather ring rusty. He pulled too hard early on and then clipped heels with another horse down the back straight which probably did not help.. He finished 5th and will now start a chasing career..

It was good to see Phil Lewis at Warwick.. His company Lewis Badges sponsored the 5th race.. They make all the trainers badges and most of the metal badges you see on racecourses and in other sports.

Kempton yesterday.. Fair Frontieres ran a better race again to finish 3rd.. His last two runs are a huge step up on what he achieved over the winter.. Probably the shitty ground we all encountered.?

Milly Jeory and Inca Rose had a good day out in their point to poiint.. Milly learning..

Tuesday morning brings in Ciaran Gethings and David Bass. We jumped or rather they did.. The Edgar Wallace, Lady Gwen. Le Cameleon, Parc d'Amour and Lets Go Amigo

We have our usual Tuesday vet visit and this weeks mover and shakers in the BHA handicap charts were none as there was no jump racing last week..

We have two runners today. The first at Ffos Las in Magical Escape and the last at Hereford in Von Hallers.. I was going to go to both meetings, but Peter Kerr who runs all my KBRS rang to say that no owners were venturing to deepest Wales.. so Hereford it is for me tonight. For my thoughts on the two runners please click here.

The old ones are the best!!
