Plus 4 and dry when driving in.

That was a day and a half yesterday.

I rushed to Lord's to watch Archie and after his first wicket Christopher Hill text me a picture of Archie on the pitch so I knew he was there too.

We met up in one of the bars in the Pavilion and had a few to celebrate and then we watched Gerard Mentor’s race on my phone.. I have to admit that there was a bit of yelling and excitement when we saw Tom Bellamy creeping through the field and when GM stuck his head in front we start making more noise.. More drinks to celebrate..

Postscript on that is that you are not allowed to use mobile phones in the Pavilion and certainly not allowed to shout..

Thrilled for The Garretts, Woodhall’s and Gwen Meacham who have stuck with GM through all his quirks.. I did not think he had the inclination to jump fences and that proved me wrong.. We had even made an entry for a flat race on Monday as a possible thought to his winter season as he hates soft ground..

Being at Lord's meant that I missed our first National Racehorse afternoon. Mat was in charge and he will be again today as I will be back in London to celebrate Archie's big day yesterday when he took 4 wickets and put Gloucestershire in with every chance of beating Middlesex…

It was a remarkable day for Archie and I have to say that by the time I went to bed last night I was a physical and mental wreck.

Shocking to read about Tracy Vigors.. Dreadfully sad and all our thoughs go out to Charlie and sons Harry and Oliver.
