Plus 11 and dry when driving in.

Driving in and out of London yesterday was easy compared to getting through Oxford!

The iconic Long Room at Lord’s was full of Peter Deal’s racing and cricketing friends.

Cricketing legend, part time rider outer for me in Lambourn and now MCC President Mark Nicholas opened the speeches welcoming us on behalf of the MCC and talked about Peter and his love of cricket.

Richard Phillips gave a brilliant speech about Peter’s involvement in racing and his love of the sport and all it entailed.. and then his wife Pam thanked all for coming… Yes, it was a very sad, but also a happy occasion, and one Peter would have been annoyed to have missed..

Plenty of racing faces. Teddy Grimthorpe and his sister Harriet Smyly, Oliver and Tanya Sherwood. Barney Clifford, Paul Webber, Martin Broughton, Nicholas Jones, Ralf Beckett, Ed Dunlop, Jamie Railton, Tom Goff, Simon and Rupert Sweeting, David Redvers, Martin and David Pipe just to name a few!

Reg Akehurst has died aged 94.. A genuis of a trainer..

Wednesday morning and we have Rhiannon Evans and Loretta Miller here for a morning on the gallops and breakfast.
