Plus 8 and dry when driving in. 9mm of rain here yesterday
I admire anybody who commutes to London from this area…
Plans were made for Archie and I to catch the 9.05 from Kingham but then a text came through at 7.30 to say that the service from Kingham to London was cancelled.. I had a meeting at 11 in the city..
I had to do a rapid change and ended going from Cheltenham which meant the two tickets for Archie and myself were £50 more expensive and due to their slow service from Cheltenham Spa I was 45 minutes late for my meeting!.. Not a happy chappy..Made up by seeing my future daughter in law, India Smith for a quick lunch.
Talking trains.. Mat is heading to Newcastle next month for an Imperial Racing Cheltenham preview and two return tickets cost him £645..Cheaper to fly!
Jamie Moore has retired.. What a bloody trooper he has been in the saddle..The Moore’s are a great family and oh so talented.
Friday morning brings in John and Kate Elliot to see their KBRS horse Grand Escaparde.. also here was Didi Joslin to see her KBRS horses Lets Go Amigo and Shantou Express.
Cricket.. Tough yesterday but...This morning started well but like yesterday it looks a difficult day. We have gained 5 penalty runs .. A first I believe.
We had our usual Friday vet visit and thankfully our veterinary records are well up to date as we had a flying, unannounced, visit from the BHA a couple of days ago..
Steve Kitchen was here from BBC Glos to record a 100 year Gold Cup piece..
I just love Christopher Marriott’s sense of humour..
Three women are in the gynaecologist’s waiting room discussing their pregnancies.
The first woman says:” I know I’m having a boy because I was on top when he was conceived.”
The second woman says: “I know that I’m having a girl because I was on the bottom when she was conceived.”
They look at the third woman and ask what she is having, and she blushes before saying: “I guess it will be puppies.”
