Plus 10, drizzling and damp when driving in..

I was amazed how many of you got in touch with your thoughts on Cheltenham. Good and not so good.. But on the amusing side thanks Linda Redmond for the 'Cheltenham Festival Statement' as in my photo side of this blog.

Talking on the photos side your will see the difference between the trainers table on both side of the Irish Sea and this was brought about to show Kevin Blake that all is not good in Ireland too..

I accept that Kevin talks a great deal of sense, but giving trainers in England a bit of a ribbing last week was not ideal to read, especially when you see how top heavy the Irish Trainers table is… and looking down the list you wonder where the next generation of trainers are coming from..

Where as in the English trainers table there are trainers doing well and coming through the ranks..

Just look at the number of individual horses run by the top Irish and then the top English trainers… It really does make interesting reading ?

PS on the above.. I would be currently 5th in the Irish trainers table..

I had a meeting in Cheltenham and a hair cut.. You can image which took longer? The grapevine told me that Cornelius Lysaght and Mark Pougatch were in town for lunch..Tried to crash but missed them!

A big blow to Lambourn.. They have had to cancel their annual Open Day

Back to today. We have our usual vet visit and this weeks movers and shakers in the BHA handicap charts were. I Got Stung down 4 to 95 while Chianti Classico goes up 11 to 154

We have one runner today at Exeter. Law Of Supply runs there and for my thoughts please click here

A jockey is talking to the trainer ahead of the race.

“You got to ride him to win,” the trainer says, “because I’ve got a monkey on this horse, and so has my wife.”

“Will there be any room for me?,” the jockey asks.

To finish.. Happy birthday to Simon Sherwood. He will be getting more phone calls than normal today..CoC of Ludlow races.
