Plus 3 and dry when driving in.

That was a very wet day yesterday..30mm ..Lingfield was not pretty to watch!

It was a shocker here when riding out as you saw from yesterdays photos, but there was some light relief for my team when Mrs B brought up some well earned snacks from Bruno Brenninkmeijer..

Bruno and Fiona McKenzie look after ‘The Pantry’ in Withington which provides food sourced from local supermarkets Waitrose, Marks and Spencer’s and great wraps, sandwiches and pastries from Pret A Manger. This food would otherwise be thrown out…wastage and the sad truth is there is a lot of it.

The Pantry provides the Community of surrounding villages a way of obtaining some of this delicious food by way of making a little donation to those volunteers that go to collect it. Yesterday the Pantry was very much appreciated..!

It might have been wet yesterday morning, but it was certainly wet again in the afternoon as it poured with rain while Mat and I were looking at todays Cheltenham Tattersalls horses for sale.. The sale starts at 1pm today..

Back to this morning.

We have our usual vet Friday visit..

Cheltenham Festival week is rapidly approaching and we are considering hosting a get together to watch the racing at the yard on the Thursday of the Festival.

The idea comes from a couple of owners who asked if we could have a social gathering at Thorndale because they no longer enjoy the hassle of attending but miss the excitement and celebrations with others when watching at home on their own.

This event will be exclusively for owners and will provide an opportunity for everyone to mingle, watch the racing, and enjoy some food and drink in the office.

Please note that space is limited as we want to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience for all attendees. Therefore, if you are interested in attending, we kindly ask that you email info@kimbaileyracing.com.

A man and his wife were awakened at 3:00 am by a loud pounding on the door.

The man gets up and goes to the door where a drunken stranger, standing in the pouring rain, is asking for a push.

"Not a chance," says the husband, "it is 3:00 in the morning!"

He slams the door and returns to bed.

"Who was that?" asked his wife.

"Just some drunk guy asking for a push," he answers.

"Did you help him?" she asks.

"No, I did not, it is 3:00 in the morning and it is pouring rain out there!"

"Well, you have a short memory," says his wife. "Can't you remember about three months ago when we broke down, and those two guys helped us? I think you should help him, and you should be ashamed of yourself!

The man does as he is told, gets dressed, and goes out into the pouring rain. He calls out into the dark, "Hello, are you still there?"

"Yes," comes back the answer.

"Do you still need a push?" calls out the husband.

"Yes, please!" comes the reply from the dark.

"Where are you?" asks the husband.

"Over here on the swing set," replied the drunk.

To finish.. Happy birthday to Jeremy Kerr..
