Join us for an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of Kim Bailey & Mat Nicholls Racing, where passion for horses and dedication to training come together. As you step into the vibrant atmosphere of the stables, you’ll be greeted by the rhythmic sounds of hooves and the cheerful whinnies of the horses, each with their own unique personality.
The tour begins with a warm welcome from Kim Bailey, a seasoned trainer with a wealth of experience, winner of the Cheltenham Gold Cup, Champion Hurdle and The Grand National, and Mat Nicholls, who brings a fresh perspective to the team. Mat has been with Kim for over 15 years and has previously worked with other established trainers. They’ll share insights into their training philosophies, highlighting their commitment to the welfare and development of each horse.
Whilst drinking your pre tour tea/coffee you will have the chance to chat with other guests and staff and admire all of the historical photos that adorn our office walls with previous heroes. As you begin your guided tour of our facilities, you’ll have the chance to meet some of the stars of the yard. From young up-and-comers to seasoned racehorses, each animal is cared for with the utmost attention. You’ll learn about the training routines, dietary plans, and exercise regimens that keep these athletes in peak condition.
We will enjoy a brisk walk to watch the horses go through their training routine on the gallops, please don’t wear new shoes as it can be a bit muddy. However, we can drive to the gallops if walking is not suitable for you.
Throughout the experience, you’ll gain insights into the racing industry, from training to race day preparations. The tour culminates with a cooked full English breakfast and Q&A session, allowing you to ask questions and dive deeper into the world of horse racing. Kim will also relay previous amusing and intriguing stories from his illustrious career.

A Morning on the Gallops experience can be taken Monday - Saturday and starts at 8.15am to be arranged on a mutually convenient day for all parties and costs £80pp.
