Plus 6 and dry when driving in.

Well done Andy Martin. Andy who is our blacksmith also trains a few horses for himself.

Yesterday Andy trained two winners and a second at Leicester; his son James rode one and the second while Mikey Hamill rode the other.. Well done Andy, James and Mikey.

David Bass was here this morning to ride out a couple of lots. We worked a few and jumped a couple. A video can be seen here.

We jumped Thumb Stone Blues, Red Spinner, Derrintoger Bliss, The Last Samuri and Charbel. A video can be watched here.

Mary Dulverton was here second lot to watch her and Michael's horse Call Claude do his stuff up the gallops.

Today the handicap weights for the Cheltenham Festival are announced at a press conference at Cheltenham Raceourse. The big weights launch is attended by trainers and press alike.. I hope they behave better than they did in London..

Two weeks today we will be about to settle down for day two of the Cheltenham Festival.

Yesterday in two weeks time we would have seen the Arkle Chase winner.. Altior? Did Charbel run in it?

We need a crystal ball… Charbel worked this morning and we are happy with him. As yet he has never been further than two miles and on his pedigree he probably isn’t bred to get much further. We have a difficult choice.. Arkle or JLT? I am afraid it will be a last minute call. Ground is a major factor as is the opposition, so hold your bets please.

Our others runners look like being Un Ace in the Browns Advisory & Merriebelle Stable Plate, this was the race Darna won two years ago. Interestingly Un Ace was nearly favourite that year with AP McCoy on board... Robin The Raven runs  in the bumper.

Talking runners, we have a couple today. One at Wincanton and one at Ffos Las. For my thoughts on the chances please click here.

This came from Sandra Arkwright..

A woman ran a red traffic light and crashed into a man's car.  Both of their cars are demolished but amazingly neither of them was hurt.

After they crawled out of their cars, the woman said; "Wow, just look at our cars! There's nothing left, but fortunately we are unhurt. This must be a sign from God that we should meet and be friends and live together in peace for the rest of our days."

The man replied," I agree with you completely. This must be a sign from God!"

The woman continued, "And look at this, here's another miracle. My car is completely demolished, but my bottle of 75 year old scotch didn't break. Surely God meant for us to drink this vintage delicacy and celebrate our good fortune." Then she handed the bottle to the man.

The man nods his head in agreement, opened it, drank half the bottle and then handed it back to the woman. The woman took the bottle, immediately put the cap back on, and handed it back to the man.

The man asks, "Aren't you having any?"

She replies, "Nah. I think I'll just wait for the police."

The moral of the story..

Adam ate the apple, too!

Men will never learn!

Time flies.. was it really 28 years ago this morning that Harry Bailey was born? Yes.. Happy birthday Harry. I am not going to add an old photo of you.. promise.. that one can wait?
