1st June 2016

Plus 11 and raining when driving in.

June is a new month. Sadly May no more.. My favourite month has gone..

I didn't believe I could get that wet at Ascot Sales yesterday.

It was not an easy day to sell horses as nobody was that keen on getting soaked while watching them trot up.

Our two horses both found new homes at far less than I expected. Both were being sold to dissolve their respective partnerships and therefore without reserve. Lady Of Llanarmon made £10,000.00 and was bought by Andrew Hickman although I believe Donald McCain signed the ticket, while Taras Rainbow was bought by Mr Johnson who immediately booked her in to meet the new sire Telescope.

There was certainly plenty of action sales wise yesterday as prices for horses at the top end were back to where they used to be some years ago when Ascot was one of the best end of season sales.. It did feel like walking back in time as not much has changed since my last visit.

I recall sunny days and sitting on grass banks having a drink with Ollie Sherwood.. not yesterday as both of us were huddled inside to avoid the rain..

Mat rang while I was at Ascot to say that he was not happy with Sonneofpresenting who had failed to eat anything for 12 hours.. we did not run as we need to find out why.

David Bass was in this morning; we worked Sunblazer and Policy Breach.. Sunblazer’s count down to Royal Ascot has started in earnest. Time to try on my morning suit.. has Mrs B shrunk it?

Blazon has another visitor today. Blazon is our latest KBRP horse and for more details please click here. or ring Peter Kerr on 07901763643. 70% of the new partnership is now sold.

We have no runners today.

Brenda and Steve took their six-year-old son to the doctor.

With some hesitation, they explained that although their little angel appeared to be in good health, they were concerned about his rather small penis.

After examining the child, the doctor confidently declared, 'Just feed him pancakes. That should solve the problem.'

The next morning when the boy arrived at breakfast, there was a large stack of warm pancakes in the middle of the table.

'Gee, Mum,' he exclaimed. 'For me?'

'Just take two,' Brenda replied. 'The rest are for your father.'

I forgot to wish my father in law a happy birthday yesterday..Happy birthday Freddie..I hope you got my card?

We have a new owner of the month interview.. Click here to read about John Stanley
