Plus 8 and dry when driving in.. Feels colder!

Jeudidee was impressive when winning the lucky last, the bumper, at Warwick last night.

This really attractive bouncy horse was keen, as we rather expected, but when asked to go he flew..

It might not have been a world beating race win but his performance was certainly a taking one, and one that should set him up well for a strong summer campaign..

Jeudidee was as proud of himself in the winners enclosure as were his owners.. Park View.. John and Laura Garrett.. Great for them as their last winner was The Bull McCabe at Cheltenham.

Danny Cooper sourced this horse for me in France.. Or rather he emailed me out of the blue a few years ago after Espoir De Romay won and said that he had just seen his half brother and I should buy him.. I did and 3 years later Heros De Romay made a wining start to his career in a bumper at Exeter and blow me within a week he was in touch again.. Hence Jeudidee…. As yet I have not met Danny, but I am certainly happy with the association!

Warwick was quiet and cold for their last meeting of the year. You have to pat them on the back as they have made a real go of making Warwick a decent jumps track now that they have stopped flat racing..A difficult course to run as it has a road right behind the stands, hence no room to expand, but they are always welcoming and pleased to see you… They have a good team of directors headed by Dan Richmond-Watson.

I called in to see the Dulverton’s and their horses on the way to Warwick .. They all looked so well..

Phil and Sarah Bell called in yesterday morning for a chat. They were staying over at The Frogmill..

Phil is Executive Director of South West Arena Racing..i.e. he is in charge of Chepstow, Hereford, Ffos Las and Worcester racecourses… A good man who has a difficult task and one that he does well.. He was interested in my views and prepared to listen.. poor chap!

No runners today..
