Plus 13 and dry when driving in.

Time flies, we are now into October.. Summer sadly is well behind us and winter approaches.

Rain has arrived and needed. The Jumps season is about to kick in with earnest.

On that note we worked Charbel, Imperial Aura, Commodore Barry and Minella Warrior this morning.

Agent Memphis returned to the yard having been in pre training with Martin Jones.

Graham Potts our vet was in for his Tuesday visit.

We had a mover and shaker in this weeks BHA handicap charts. Pond Road down 3 to 96..

Clare is bearing up well although her neck brace and position means that she sees a great deal of the ceiling.

Maddie my PA went to see her yesterday and gave her a welcome massage.. Maddie was just leaving when Michael, Clare’s brother, and I arrived.

We very much hope that she might be able to sit up a bit today.. I must add that all your cards and messages are hugely appreciated by Clare.

I have to say people are incredibly generous.

Last night, while I was visiting Clare in Gloucester Hospital, Clare’s mother Cilla restocked my fridge and a decanted bottle of Chateau La Fleur Petrus 2003 was left in my office to accompany my steak..

The wine did not come from the same source as the steak but god it was good…and hugely appreciated..

Sundays new open day format was a huge success judging by all the emails and comments..They also really enjoyed listening to Cornelius Lysaght..

SIMPLE TRUTH 2:

When a lady is pregnant, all her friends touch the stomach and say, "Congrats."

But, none of them comes up to the man - touch his penis and say, "Good job."

Moral of the story -- Hard work is rarely appreciated.
