Plus 15 and dry when driving in...

What a weekend for three people!

Firstly..Norman Carter whose partnership horse Astro King won the Cambridgeshire.. It was his turn for Astro King to run in his colours and what a win off top weight.. A record that will probably stand for many years… Norman did a very good impression of the movements to the dancing queen..post race.. Ribs took a bettering.

It was his wedding anniversary yesterday and Robert Fanshawe was quick to squash the rumours that Norman was thinking of moving nearer to Lambourn!

Secondly, well done to Alicia Perkins who used to work here, but was so light that she went to work in a flat yard! Anyway she rode her first winner at Chelmsford on Saturday night. We are all really please for her.

Thirdly.. Archie Bailey is a now a fully paid up cricketer for Gloucestershire having signed a two year professional contract on Friday. He starts November 1..We, and especially me, are thrilled!!

Sunday morning we had an away day for Chianti Classico, Samatian, The Bull McCabe and Espoir De Romay..

While driving there I listened to a recording of Lucinda Russell on Desert Island Discs.. She was excellent.

I was not expecting to have a BBQ and lunch outside yesterday.. warm for the time of year!

An excellent Arc..Ace Impact showed some speed..

I am not really into playing golf but The Ryder Cup was captivating TV. Europe regain the Cup

Monday morning..

John and Sally-Ann Wood were here for a morning on the gallops that they booked a couple of years ago to celebtrate their wedding anniversary... They were joined by Richard Price..
