0 degrees and dry when driving in. A dry week ahead.

A big week ahead with the Randox Health Grand National on Saturday.

It was not very nice or dry at Uttoxeter on Saturday where Grand March finished 4th.

Yesterday we were at Cocklebarrow Races where the ground was pretty fast.. Good to firm was the description but I would imagine it was faster than that by the last. None of my team were riding there.

Monday morning and fresh horses

Gus Levinson was in to ride out two lots..

Norman Carter was here second lot to see his flat horse Sunblazer go up the gallops . Norman also saw his KBRP horse Milord and his young horse Diamond Gait who is heading for an early summer holiday. Nice filly who needs a summer out.

We have started roughing a few off now.. Roughing off means gradually taking their rugs off and getting the horses used to being cold…sounds worse than it really is.

Andy and Ali Sulin were here third lot to see their horse Aliandy.

We have 4 runners today at two meetings . At Ludlow we run By The Boardwalk, Jupiters Gift and Pulling Power while at Huntingdon we run Cresswell Legend in the bumper. If Henry Morshead was not banned today we would be using all my regular jockeys.

Loads of runners at Ludlow a week after complaining about their shortage last week. Newton Abbot tomorrow is off.. Waterlogged.. Wierd weather?

Nanette Sellars sent this one over..

An elderly lady was standing at the railing of the cruise ship holding her hat tight so that it would not blow away in the wind.

A gentleman approached her and said, "Pardon me, madam.. I do not intend to be forward but did you know that your dress is blowing up in this high wind?"

"Yes, I know," said the lady. "I need both my hands to hold onto this hat."

"But madam, you must know that you are not wearing any panties and your privates are exposed!" said the gentleman in earnest.

The woman looked down, then back up at the man and replied, "Sir, anything you see down there is 75 years old.

I just bought this hat yesterday!"
