Plus 14 and drizzling when driving .. It was another wet day yesterday.. it felt very autumnal.
Blazon finished 4th at Chepstow yesterday.
He ran well enough but he was up 4lbs for his recent second.. and up a total of 8 since his last winning mark..
David Bass and Ciaran Gething were in this morning to ride out.
We worked a few but most were only cantered.
John Perriss was over second lot to see his horse Illuminated Beauty and Penny’s Station Master.
Derby Day.. July 4th? Not the usual combination, but then we are not in a normal year...
I hope English King wins for Ed Walker.. It would be a popular win..
The last Lambourn trained winner was Peter Nelson's Snow Knight who was also trained from the same yard as Ed ....Just before you hit the email button and tell me I am wrong..Sir Percy was trained in the Lambourn area but not on their gallops.
Anyway it is a wide open race and you have to enjoy all the armchair pundits telling all who listen that Ryan Moore has chosen the wrong horse in Mogul.
They say that tonight will be as busy as New Years Eve.. God help us if it is..Pubs open and all entertainment ready for those brave enough to hit the town.. I won’t be.... Don't fancy any more spikes..
