Good to see Jonathan Herbert back in the yard. Jonathan used to be the racing correspondent to our local paper the Gloucester Echo.

Graham Potts our vet was in the yard this morning.

Archie and I spent yesterday wandering around Ian and Lizzie Wills’s farm. A fun day which included Henry Cator, Richard Crosbie-Dawon, Jonathan Hicks, Jim Rogers, Charlie Sample, Tim Bontecou and Mark Savage.. The sun shone..

Sandown hosts one of my favourite races of the year. Unibet Veterans' Handicap Chase (In Memory Of Houblon Des Obeaux) Final Of 2019 Veterans' Series for 10yo+. This series has been a resounding success. Great to see these old boys having a race series like this with a hug pot of prize money for the final.

Racing news.. Sad to see that Peter Hiatt has retired from training. A wily old fox.. he was very good at improving horses from other yards… Racing legend Darkie Deacon’s funeral yesterday.
