Plus 9 and dry when driving in.

We are in the middle of a two week break from Jump racing..A good break is needed for Jockeys..

A time for them to have family time.. or fun..or both?. David Bass and Viktoria Gatu have driven to Sweden via Germany to stay with Viktoria's parents  .. As mentioned before, Ciaran Gethings has gone home to Ireland... Most jockeys have taken the break as time for a holiday..

When they come back they will read that Joe Tuite is retiring from training.. A good trainer who sadly has found the current financial pressures all too much and now Megan Nicholls has packed up riding.

Racing has seen huge changes this summer.. Racecourses short of runners surely due to the current drought and bookmakers complaining that their business are struggling too.. But look on the bright side, it will rain and the jumps season will be in full swing when October comes round.

On that note..

Mary Dulverton was here second lot to see her horses Sayadam, Happygolucky, Kyntara and Artic Saint.

Late morning John and Penny Perriss were here to see their horses horses.. John’s Bobhopeornohope, Getaweapan, I spy A Diva, Lady Of The Night, Lots Of Luck, Rockys Treasure, Top Target and 'Tyson' and Penny’s Hurlerontheditch and Wandrin Star

Also here were Keith and Liz Ellis who were here to see their two homebreds Thruthelookinglass and Behindtheveil.
