Plus 10 and dry when driving in.

Warwick was fun yesterday.

No pressure with runners so I was able to enjoy the hospitality of John Webber and Richard Sheppard at their 10th anniversary of Colliers Sponsorship at Warwick.

I left well before the last race to head to Gloucester Hospital to see Clare..

Good news..

I will hopefully be making my last visit today as I hope to be bringing Clare home later this morning.. It is going to be a long steady recovery, but we will all feel happier that she is home.

I hope other drivers dont worry about an old man driving slowly....caringly

Again a big thanks for all the messages.

Hugo Bevan rang yesterday amongst many..

You might remember Hugo as Towcester’s longest serving clerk of the course.

When Hugo retired from clerking he returned to head up their owners and trainers winning connections entertainment section.

Hugo has always been an amusing person and fitted the role perfectly. As an old friend and past owner.. Hugo, along with Bill Shand Kydd helped me set up a charity racing partneship The Dream Makers to help my ex jockey JP McNamara .. While also raising money for Spinal Research..

Anyway being one of Towcester leading trainers I was lucky to be a regular into his hallowed room..Hugo knew my liking to wine .. as you might expect the winning connections wine was horrid, so Hugo never missing a trick, would slip into Lord Hesketh’s box and ‘borrow’ a couple of bottle of his lordships finest claret..

I would probably consume one and what was left over was taken home by Hugo to enjoy with his wife Carol.. A good Margaux was a regular consumption..

Back to this morning.

David and Fran Ratcliffe were here second lot to see their KBRP- Vinndication and Silver Kayf.

Ian Brotherton was also here to see his KBRP horses  Subway Surf, Shinobi and Vinndication

Darren Smith was also here second lot to see his KBRP horse Vinndication

Third lot Paul and Eileen Martin were here to see his KBRP horse Donnie Brasco.

Australians have a great sense of humour and this is their fight back against veganism..
