Plus 9 and dry when driving in.
That was one of the wettest weekends on record. According to my rain gauge we had over 5 inches of rain in the last 48 hours. Winchcombe was recorded of having 109.. the wettest part of the county.
We took some horses to work in Lambourn yesterday morning and they were saying they had over 5 inches too.. lets not be too competitive.
Talking competitive.. I was not amused to finish second at Uttoxeter with Shantou Express… Odds on favourite, we were beaten I hope by a good horse as the two of us were 32 lengths clear of the third horse… Annoying…
Probably equally annoying to be well beaten in the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.. Enable never looked happy.. she finished 6th.. sad to go out like that but what a race mare she has been..Was the winner named by Nicola Sturgeon?
The Arc was a very odd race to watch.. Not only did Enable run below par but there were no Aiden O'Brien runners as his urine tests (the horses not human) that were sent to a French lab returned positive for the prohibited substance Zilpaterol.
Monday morning and fresh horses.

We jumped Rhosneigr and Inca Rose.
We were to have two runners today at Stratford, Grey Flint and Grey Felix. But racing has been abandonned as the course is waterlogged.. The river burst its backs..
