Plus 17 and dry when driving in.

It was mighty warm in London yesterday.

Mike Wilson’s memorial in St Martin in the Fields was packed.. not a seat to spare.

A fabulous service and one that all who were there went home moved by the tributes and readings.

Perhaps the most moving moment came when his granddaughter Bella Christie (11) read a poem she wrote herself..

'Grandpa Puff-Puff,
I know you can no longer stay with us.
You tried so hard to be with us, travelling back and forth from the big city of London.
I now know you watch over us and you are there
With the singing of the birds, the rising of the sun and the falling of the moon.
Although I cannot hear your voice or see your smiling face,
I know deep down in my heart that you have not left me, that you are still there.

I remember you taking away my teddies and hiding them,
Us mucking around and then being told off by Mummy,
Telling us to calm down from the laughter and silliness
But all those memories have a charm of love and happiness that I will never forget.

So many broken hearts are left behind,
But in my grief, I know that you are at peace with the Angels and up above the clouds,
And the bright blue sky with the shining gold, glazing sun beaming in to heaven

So as time passes, our tears will dry and our hearts will mend and our love for you will never end.'

As you might have guessed her grandfather was an avid smoker...
