Minus 4 and dry when driving in.. A bit colder than expected this morning.

You cannot rely on the weather forecast.

Yesterday Wincanton had 12mm of unforecasted rain which turned their ground to heavy. Not ideal when we went down there for what was meant to be good to soft in places..

Hollymount Holly ran well, but finished second. The first two drew a long way clear of the third.

Annoying to finish second but she still ran well. David Bass was adamant that the ground was too soft for the horse in the bumper so we took Bobhopeornohope out.

Winncanton has improved as a course and a good owners lunch where John and Penny Perriss were joined by Chris Trigg and Russell Field..Much talk ensued.

What did surprise me was bumping into David Curtis. I have not seen David for years and it was so good to catch up. David lives in Yorkshire..A long way from home. This is why.. He was with Richard Hollingbery

Last nights Well Child Cheltenham Preview was fun. Ed Chamberlin compered Richard Phillips, Aidan Coleman and Bruce Millington.. Ed made it a fun evening.

Friday morning and Emma Buchanan was here second lot to see her mare Sea Story.

Third lot Annamarie Phelps was here for a first visit to Thorndale.. Rob Heginbotham was acting chauffeur.

No racing today for us.. Leicester and Sandown off but Ffos Las goes ahead..

John Corsan (has a share in Hes No Trouble)reported that yesterday morning he was queing in his local Post Office when 2 people with masks burst in.

Total Panic.

Then they said "this is a robbery” . .. and we all calmed down.
