Once a year is probably enough for lunch with John Webber and Richard Sheppard.. It was a time to discuss the future and plan what we might be doing with horses, and of course discuss what sort of horse that might end up in their ownership in the next coming months.
131 has done us proud over the years and yesterday was no exception and however hard we tried we did mange to make it home.. Easy for us as Peter Kerr drove Mat and myself back.. beautifully... John and Richard missed their 5.30 train to Birmingham which was hardly surprising as we were still there at 6.15.. I assume they probably made it home.. eventually.
There is a serious side to John and Richard as they are the leading sorters of our business rates and love their racing enough that they sponsor at Warwick every year though their business Colliers..
Last night Clare, Archie and I had supper (outside) with Richard and Georgie Barrow.. Alice their daughter rides out here and part cooked last nights excellent supper.. Richard loves his wine and always spoils.. he is currently creating his own vineyard..
Thursday is our easy day .. well it is during the winter months..
My day started early with a dentist appointment.. never an enjoyable experience and it is going to end with a Lord's regional supper or dinner at the Manor House in Moreton In The Marsh..John Disney is my guest.. should be fun..
