Minus 3 and dry when driving in...

You will all be pleased to know that I had a text from Mrs Bailey last night saying Kim is out of his operation and all went well. He will be staying in hospital for a few days to recuperate.

It has been a busy 6 weeks getting to grips with my new role at KBR...I'm thoroughly enjoying it and starting to feel much more at home. It must be said that everyone has been super helpful and patient whilst I find my feet (yes...even Matt). I always joke that being a racing secretary is a bit like being a duck...calm on the surface and paddling like hell underneath!

Alongside my job at KBR, I own a Mobile Gin and Cocktail bar. Weekends off throughout the summer will be few and far between so I have been enjoying a quieter January/February before our first event of the year at Didmartin Point to point in a few weeks.

On Sunday it was good to catch up with friends at The Fox at Oddington (which I can highly recommend) the food was delicious accompanied with great cocktails! There was a lot of racing chat and debates mainly centered around gallop surfaces, the new whip regulations and french horses...all subjects which are best avoided after a few Espresso Martinis!

Sylvia and Kirsty Wilks were in this morning to see Galante de Romay

Does He Know went to Laura Collett this morning for some schooling ahead of his engagement in the Denman Chase at Newbury this weekend.

We have three runners today at Taunton you can read our thoughts on them here.

Tuesday morning...todays movers and shakers in the BHA Handicap Chart are as follows...Moonlighter down 1 to 125 and Top Target down 1 to 122.

David Bass was in this morning and I have managed to rope him into writing tomorrow's blog...stay tuned for that, I have heard he has plenty to say.
