Plus 3 and dry when driving in.

Warwick was very busy yesterday, as it should be for a Bank Holiday.

Royal Supremo was a tantalising second and although I hate being second I would have accepted that result before the race as his last run was a shocker.

Royal Supremo had a very happy team of owners on hand to enjoy his better run..He shaped as a bit further would benefit him.

The ground was fast summer ‘good’ ground or rather it rode ‘good to firm’ on Royal Supremo who wants that sort of ground.

Honestly is what we trainers want from the clerk of the courses and today I am taking the Ayr clerk on trust as he got it wrong last time for the Scottish Grand National meeting as his good ground was virtually firm.. Today he promises good ground and it is a very long way to take one horse if it is not.. I am trusting his judgement.

This weeks movers or shakers in the HBA handicap rating charts was Silver Kayf who went down 1 to 131.

Bobhopenohope and Lots of Luck went home to their owner John Perriss this morning for their summer holidays..
