Plus 11 and dry when driving in

It will be a brief blog this morning.. Late night and an early start..

Gerard Mentor, well why did you not win.. Travelled well and looked all over the winner jumping the last but oh no he was second again. I said on my insights yesterday that he should win if he wants to..He has the ability.. Frustrating for all involved as we all want a winner.

You know I hate being second and this one will hurt as I am sure he will go up again in the BHA ratings next week..

Worcester... Just love the place.. Marton Abbey ran well and with promise to finish 5th.

This ex English point to pointer showed that he would benefit from further and the experience..but we ran there because it was genuinely good ground, which it won't be for long judging by the weather forecast.. ..

Try getting out of Worcester after the last when you are in a hurry.. to go partying!

My visit to Cheltenham Racecourse yesterday to meet up with Ian Renton, Nevin Truesdale, Stuart Clark the CFO and Sophia Dale was certainly interesting..

The Jockey Club has been doing a bit of a roadshow around the industry, talking about our business, Covid challenges, future plans, Prize Money etc.

I mentioned in the meeting, which Ben Pauling was the only other trainer invited, that owners really need to see report..

The McCoys last night was a hugely glitzy evening. Many awards from Jockeys, Trainers, Owners and stable staff.. Richard Johnson was understandably emotional for his Achievement award and received a stand ovation but the nights biggest and longest standing ovation came for Simon Claisse when he won his award..

Cheltenham really are going to miss his expertise and knowledge on how to handle the Festival and all its problems.

The night was compared by the father and son team of Rupert and Oli Bell..

It was a very early start taking Chianti Clasico, Hurlerontheditch, Imperial Aura and Pipesmoker away for a day out..

Nick Brown and Paul Wells were here mid morning visiting Thorndale for the first time and see their mare Queenohearts

The first big jumps meeting of the season starts today at Chepstow and we have a runner in Does He Know and for my thoughts on his chances please click here.
