Plus 9 and drizzling when driving in.

Ben Arthur parted company with David Bass at Plumpton yesterday. He was finding the track too tight although he might have been placed if they had stayed together.

This morning we worked Our Belle Amie, Station Master, Commodore Barry and Laval Noir.

Ireland celebrating? Well they certainly should do as they finished first, second and third in the Melbourne Cup. Joseph beat his farther Aiden with Willie third. O’Brien’s and Mullins.. Irelands top trainers. Video of last couple of furlongs..

Hughie Morrison, whose birthday it is today, sadly failed in his bid for a fairy-tale present as his horse Marmelo, who was the co favourite, finished 9th.

Amazing to think that Australia’s  greatest race was ruined by overseas horses.. 9 of the first 11 were horses that were either trained in or bought from Europe.

One of our vets was in this morning..

This weeks movers and shakers in the BHA handicap charts are..Sunblazer goes up 3 on the flat after his win at Newmarket last week to 85, Milord down 2 over fences and hurdles to 113 and 118, Alfies Choice up 5 to 115 for finishing second last week at Wetherby, Blazon enters at 112, Charbel is reassessed over hurdles to 149, while The Last Samuri is also reassessed over hurdles to 154.. I am sorry but that is bloody rediculous.. When TLS last ran over hurdles he was beaten on a rating of 130 and now he is 5lbs higher than Charbel...Sorry but this rule makes no sense at times.. Handicapping at its worst.

Cotwold Film Company were here again playing with drone footage..

We have two runners today art Exeter. Silver Kayf and Champagne To Go and for my thoughts on their chances please click here.
