Plus 7 and dry at the moment...

Bizarre weather.. Minus 7 one day and two days later plus 9.. Horses duvets on to keep them warm...and then off..

Wincanton on Saturday was foggy and the first few races looked as if racing would stop as we, and certainly the jockeys could not see much. It cleared for Milord's race. Milord ran OK to finish 5th….

Monday morning and not that many fresh horses.. would prefer to see more.

Bill Sykes..A Service in celebration of his life will be held at The Lodge Farm, Bishop Castle at 12 noon...Those going have been asked to wear colourful clothing.....All donations to The Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund

We have no runners today..

David Bass who was in on Saturday sat down behind my computer with Archie and changed my screen saver.. not sure I was that happy with the good looking girl being replaced by a beared man who I did not know.. David said that this bearded man was the most famous man in the UK??

So on that note.. This is a good explanation of a politician..

While suturing up a cut on the hand of a 75 year old farmer, whose hand had been caught in the gate while working his cattle, the doctor struck up a  conversation with the old man.

Eventually the topic got around to politics..

The old farmer said, "Well, ya know, I see them all as just  Post Tortoise."

Now not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked,

What's a "Post Tortoise?"

The old farmer said, "When you're driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a Tortoise balanced on top, that's a post Tortoise."

The old farmer saw the puzzled look on the doctor's face so he continued to explain.

"You know he didn't get up there by himself, he doesn't belong up there, he doesn't know what to do while he's up there, he's elevated to beyond his ability to function & he sure isn't goin' anywhere, and you just wonder what kind of dumb idiot put him up there in the first place."
