Plus 6 and dry when driving in.

If the weather forecasts are correct we wont be for long..Are we just running scared of Storm Ciara or are we being over cautious?

Sadlemor ran better yesterday at Bangor finishing 5th.. my team were well looked after by this cracking racecourse..

Last night my James and Pandora Lovett (my daughter) stayed and we all went to The Frogmill for supper with Jacko Jackson-Stops and my niece Patience Wootton.

Jacko and Patience have recently become engaged and the reason for their stay was that Patience won last seasons 5 to follow competition and the prize was a stay and supper at The Frogmill.. It was a fun night…

This years prize for those who have not joined and wanted to know is a night at the Lygon Arms..

Saturday morning and a busy one.

David Bass was in and we worked a few..

Ashley Chandler plus 3 guests were here second lot for a tour of the yard followed by breakfast.. Bought at a charity auction.

Roland West and  David Green were here for a morning on the gallops as booked through CD Tours

Iain and Angie Bell were here second lot to see their KBRP horses Lord Apparelli and Voyburg. They brought some friends along for a first visit to Thorndale.. Joe Hogan and Julie Dixon

Maurice and Sandy Hill were here third lot to see their KBRP horse the 2016 Yeats x Gold Strike

Jacko Jackson-Stops and Patience Wootton was here third lot too.

Yesterday two horses were not allowed to run in the bumper at Kempton because of passport regularities.. the horses in question were vaccinated but their passports were incorrectly filled in..

We are responsible for that and we get a fine and yesterday both horses were removed from the race..

The reason being that they might spread a virus? What does not make sens is that both horses are allowed in the racecourse stables and were there all day. Infecting everybody else?? Silly rule.. Fine and allowed to run..

Talking of running..

A huge days racing and it is not all about Altior, but having said that he must be the best price ever to win today.. To my eye he did not look fully tuned at Ascot and as a result had a hard race..

Nicky Henderson has given him time and all Nicky wants now is to win at Cheltenham again and today I am sure Altior will be back to his best and must, on all known form, be the proverbial good thing..

We have one runner at Newbury .. Java Point heads there and for thoughts please click here.

Tomorrow at Barbury point to point.. If it goes ahead, we run Doctor Haze in the Air Ambulance Charity race over a mile and 2 furlongs..Rider have to work in a racing yard but not allowed to hold a jockeys license.

I am doing this on purpose so that I can give young Lauren Hawkins a first day in a race experience.

Lauren rides well and deserves a chance to see the other side of riding. I hope racing tomorrow goes ahead and she enjoys the experience.

Have a great weekend and batten down the hatches…

Important to have sense of humour.. especially with friends.. Why was this taken the wrong way..??

To finish..Happy birthday to Mikey Elliot..
