Plus 1 and damp when driving in. Rain started as we pulled out for first lot.

We had a dusting of snow overnight and more on higher ground, but nothing like what they are all saying we would get...worse up North..

Mat made it home from Newcastle having had a long day on Tuesday. Training from Cheltenham to Newcastle followed by a long Cheltenham preview evening. Then another interesting train journey back.. at least they were not too disrupted by snow, unlike others..

Nor were we as the snow soon turned to sleet and rain and for a moment I was forced to turn on my windscreen wipers up to maximum speed.. I was rather embarrassed to be quite so dramatic!!

One of my Theault Horseboxes has just returned with a new engine. Not that happy with Peugeot.. especially as it was 2000 miles over the 100k mile warranty but within the 3 year..my next Horsebox will have a Renault engine!

The first confirmed entries have appeared for the first day of the Festival. We have Happygolucky in the Ultima Handicap Chase .. he was second in this race 2 years ago.. one better? Time will tell?

Sandown going report for Saturday.

Yesterday's snow and rain has left the course currently borderline raceable in places - downhill section, railway section of Hurdle Course, Home Straight crossover and around 2nd last Chase fence. Will monitor conditions during Thursday, find best possible racing lines, and update as necessary. Hurdle track Heavy.

Hereford's going report for Saturday. Good, Good to Soft (in places)***CURRENTLY UNRACEABLE***6cm Snow so far and continuing until midday. Minus 7 Friday night.
