Firstly I must start my blog by apologising profusely for placing an unseemly ‘joke’ here on Saturday.

It was way out of order and insensitive; I was completely wrong to have placed it.

To those who I have upset and offended I can only say that it was major mistake on my part and I promise it will not happen again. Please accept my apologises.

My blog should be light hearted and fun and on Saturday I over stepped the mark.

Monday morning and it was 11 degrees and sunny when driving in.

Andy and Ali Sulin called in yesterday morning to see their horse Aliandy. It was good to see them.

Andy is a big supporter and sponsor of Uttoxeter Raceourse and sponsors the whole card on their October 2 meeting, through his company A&S Enterprises

With no Sunday racing yesterday and with decent weather my BBQ was out. Marcus Armytage and family, Oliver and Tanya Sherwood, my daughter Pandora and my sister Moo and her husband Pete Mordaunt were with us.. Sunday fun....Summer fun.

Sunblazer and Jimmy The Jetplane went to Lambourn early this morning. Sunblazer was ridden by one of Andrew Balding’s Apprentices Joshua Bryon.

Sunblazer who is due to run at Newbury on Friday needed to go through the stalls, so the combination gave us a good opportunity to put young Joshua on top as he will probably ride Sunblazer and take a valuable 7lbs off when he runs.

Great cricket yesterday. Entralling game and England now go one up for the series.. The Oval this week will be a good place to be.

I mentioned Uttoxeter earlier; Uttoxeter Racecourse is no longer the most famous part of that town.

Early this morning Uttoxeter born and bred star swimmer Adam Peaty won Britain’s first Gold medal of the games when breaking his own record to win the 100 meters breast stroke..Well done Adam.. I can see an open top bus tour around the town waiting for your return, and a fee days racing?

Kerry Bellamy back in the office today.. Work starts again..

No jokes this week.. Lessons in life instead? Lesson one..

A sales rep, an administration clerk, and the manager are walking to lunch when they find an antique oil lamp.

They rub it and a Genie comes out.The Genie says, 'I'll give each of you just one wish.'

'Me first! Me first!' says the admin. clerk..… 'I want to be in the Bahamas, driving a speedboat, without a care in the world.' Poof! She's gone.

'Me next! Me next!' says the sales rep. 'I want to be in Hawaii, relaxing on the beach with my personal masseuse, an endless supply of Pina Coladas, and the love of my life.' Poof! He's gone.

'OK, you're up,' the Genie says to the manager. The manager says, 'I want those two back in the office after lunch.'

Moral of the story: Always let your boss have the first say..

Happy birthday to Timmy Hyde..owner of Emily Gray and Camas Park Stud
