Plus 9 when driving in this morning

We have a few visitors to the yard this morning with Alan James in second lot to see his KBRP horses Peeping Tom, Lord Apparelli and Royal Supremo.

Third lot Alex from Highclere Thoroughbred Racing brought Glen Miller to view Alfie Corbitt.

A great start to the season so far with seven winners on the board. No runners today but the movers and shakers in the handicap are Commodore Barry +7 up to 127, Sunblazer -2 down to 83, Wandrin Star +14 up to 127.

Racing at Chepstow this weekend, seen by some as the real start to the National Hunt season, followed by Cheltenham in little over two weeks time. I will be going as a spectator for the first time in five years and am really looking forward to seeing everything from a different perspective.

Kim is away and Matt is over in Lambourn with a couple of horses this morning so the team are holding the fort.

The Five to Follow Competition has started well, with 391 entries made and one lucky person will win a lovely nights stay for two at The Frogmill Inn.

I have to tell you about the amazing meal I had at The Fish Hotel over the weekend. I have been many times but this weekend was great as they are having a seafood week and I was lucky enough to have their seafood platter. If you haven't been here before, I would highly recommend a visit, it is located at the Farncombe Estate in Broadway so is the perfect setting. It mainly serves fish but there are plenty of other choices on the menu if seafood is not your thing, they also do an exceptional roast for sunday lunch too!
