Plus 4 and dry when driving in. Wrong.. now raining..

David Bass was in for a couple of lots this morning while Tom Clarkson and Henry Morshead were also here for one lot. Jason Maguire was in.. walking.

We worked By The Boardwalk, Darna, Net Work Rouge, Forgotten Hero, Royal Supremo, Lady Of Llanarmon, Mor Brook, Viaduct Jack, Kalanisi Glen, Dueling Banjos,  Widow On The Run, My Cousin Rachel, Boy In A Bentley, Our Belle Amie, Such A Legend, The Last Samuri and Laval Noir. Douglas, Sylvia and Kirsty Wilks were here second lot to see their KBRP horses Ascotdeux Nellerie and Silver Kayf do their stuff up the gallops. Breakfast followed.

Third lot Peter and Olive Smith were here to see their KBRP horse Silver Eagle and Tara’s Rainbow do their bit.

Rebranding..Doncaster Bloodstock Sales (DBS) are no more.. Incomes Goffs UK.. That's the end of an English name for a National Hunt sale in this country.. the other is Tattersalls Ireland.

Racecourses are moaning of lack of runners.. Hardly surprising about the lack of runners as those horses who have run a few races on the heavy ground we have had all winter need a break, while the better ground horses are ready and waiting, but trainers are not keen to run while we have this ground; and those potential Cheltenham horses don't need gruelling races with Cheltenham just a month away..

On that note we have no runners today as Ludlow, where we were due to run Faerie Reel has be abandoned.. waterlogged!

Last night Clare and I went to the screening rooms in Cheltenham to watch the Dads Army .

Good light entertainment which would make better viewing if I have not watched every episode of the TV version. Yes worth a visit/viewing and please remember stay in your seat until after all the credits otherwise you will miss some of the funniest bits. The take outs..

This is probably more appropriate. Especially with doctors in the news today. This one was heard on Radio 4..

The doctor at an old persons home is doing a brain function test.

He asks George 'What is 2 plus 2?' George thinks about it and answers '39'

The doctor sighs and turns to Harry and asks the same question, Harry immediately replies 'Thursday'

The doctor is exasperated and turns to Fred and asks 'What is 2 plus 2?'

Fred thinks for a while and answers '4' , the doctor thinks fantastic, 'Fred, how did you reach that answer?

Fred replies 'I got to 39 and took away Thursday'
