Plus 6 and dry when driving in. A cold easterly wind blows..

This prolonged dry spell has meant that Thursdays meeting at Wincanton has been abandoned as the ground is now hard, while Carlisle who race on the same day are having problems with their watering system have given up on their chases and made their meeting an all hurdle card..

This morning we worked Sonneofpresenting and Robin The Raven.

Carol Bailey who has shares in the KBRP horses Blazon and Our Belle Amie and the Racing For Maggies Another Venture and Biscuit was here second lot to see her horses.

Peter Kerr was here too. Peter represented me as team leader to our Kim Bailey Racing team at yesterdays Greatwood Golf Day.

Our two players Michael McLaren and Darren Smith, who are both  KBRP members were paired with John Francome and Tony McCoy, eventually finished the day in second place overall.. prompting the following email from Mike....

‘Kim, Just a quick e-mail to say thank you for the invite to the Greatwood Golf Day.  As your aware, Darren and I were very lucky to be paired with AP and John Francome. We had a great day and really enjoyed it and in true Bailey style we managed to come second!’

This weeks movers and shakers in the BHA weekly charts are.. Champion Chase down 1 to 99, Nicely Indeed enters at 117 and Sunblazer up 2 to 90.

We have Mon Palois and Rhaegar running today at Ffos Las.

I am making a very rare appearance there today as I need to check on the ground as both horses need proper decent ground to run. Keith Ottersen is one of the finest clerks of the courses and I believe what he says but I need to see for myself.. As they say..in doubt pull out.. For my thoughts on their chance please click here.

As Ffos Las in the nearest racecourse to Ireland...

Irish Diet

An Irishman was terribly overweight, so his doctor put him on a diet.

'I want you to eat regularly for 2 days, then skip a full day, and repeat this procedure for 2 weeks. The next time I see you, you should have lost at least 5 pounds.'

When the Irishman returned, he shocked the doctor by having lost nearly 60 POUNDS!

'Why, that's amazing!' the doctor said, 'Did you follow my instructions?'

The Irishman nodded...'I'll tell you though, by jaesuz, I t'aut I were going to drop dead on dat 3rd day.'

'From hunger, you mean?'

'No, from skippin', the Irishman said.

To finish.. Well done to Tyler Daintith and Stevie Broadhouse.. they have both just passed their driving tests.. after several attempts they have made it onto the highways..

Leigh Pollard my Travelling Head girl is away on Jury Service..probably for two weeks. Glad it is this time of year not mid winter..
