Plus 6 and dry when driving in.
Chepstow is in Wales.. their rules are different so not many folk around at the races.. so sad when the whole course is so empty.
Racing went ahead without many watching.
Thankfully John and Laura Garrett were there to watch their KBRS Red River run in the novice chase.. Only 2 owners allowed.. The good news is that their horse ran well to finish 3rd.. We were pleased that he jumped round and enjoyed himself.. there will be other days for him, all being well.. It was just good to see him back being a racehorse.
John Perriss was on hand to watch his horse Illuminated Beauty.. Back in trip for her next time..
Both horses are fine this morning..
Saturday morning and loads of jockeys in again. Jason Maguire, who used to be one, was here as were the current ones.. David Bass, Chester Williams and Ciaran Gething.
We worked many, but less than we were planning as the ground is drying up and most courses will have the word firm in their going descriptions next week… Hard to believe..
Jerry and Anna Stevenson And Alex Turner were making a first visit to Thorndale
Graham and Maria Wiblin-Moreno were also here to see their KBRS horse Design Icon.
We have no runners today but we do have two tomorrow at Newton Abbot. Grey Flint and Grey Felix run there and for my thoughts please click here.
Chepstow today and for that matter yesterday hold what we all in Jump racing think of the first good meeting of the jumps season..It is the start of the winter season..God and exciting racing to watch on TV..

A secret service agent, new on the job, shouts “Mickey Mouse!” This startles the would be assassin and he is captured.
Later, the secret service agent’s supervisor takes him aside and asks, “What in the hell made you shout Mickey Mouse?”
Blushing, the agent replies, “I got nervous. I meant to shout Donald duck."
