Newmarket is not exactly next door and it was a bit of a pain to visit Newmarket when their sale should really have been held just down the road and 5 miles away in Cheltenham.. Such is covid life..
Good to spend a day with my bloodstock agent Aiden Murphy..
Sadly again through covid I have not seen much of him..he is a fountain of information and knowledge..
The Tattersalls Cheltenham Sale is today.. It will be interesting to see what they all make.. It is always find it revealing to ask what sort of money the vendors are hoping for and what they actually fetch.. there are two sides to this coin!
Anyway talking sales..
There was a sale in Ireland yesterday for National Hunt Foals and the prices were very very strong indeed....

Strong is something you can call David Bass, and strong is how you would call his voting strategy as last night it was announced that David has been voted Jockey or ride of the month for his ride on Imperial Aura at Ascot..
Much deserved as David is hugely understated, underrated and an excellent stable jockey..
You will hear a great deal more of David or rather you will see a great more of David when his Sky Sport interview appears later in the week. I am not going to comment.. yet ..
But David did say was that any prize (money), if in cash he would be donated to the local donkey sanctuary… I hope he was not referring the occupants of Thorndale!?
