Plus 2 and dry when driving in.
Warwick was busy and the winners flowed, but not for Thorndale.
Kyntara looked all over the winner coming to the last, but for some reason he decided to put an extra stride in before jumping it.. That nearly had him on the floor.. It was heart stopping and a game changing mistake as he lost the lead and however hard he tried to get back up to win, he just failed..
The last hurdle was so close to the crowds that I fear he might have had his eye taken away at the last minute… hence the mistake...It was still a very good run from potentially a very good horse.
Kyntara is a big horse and at 5 years old still a weak one and he will make a superb chaser when fully developed and time will be the key to this horses future..
Thankfully he has the right owners in Michael and Mary Dulverton to give him that time.. He will surely win a hurdle or two this season, but whatever he does this time he will be a far better horse in a years time.. exciting.
Inca Rose ran well to finish 3rd.. 3 miles would suit better and again he should be winning soon.
Starvoski jumped well and will improve from the race as she did last season..while Alnitak ran well but found the ground soft enough and he too will be winning but probably in the spring on better ground.. so all in a fair day even though we failed on the winners front.
Friday morning.
The First Ashes Test looks better.. Root and Malan going well..

I am heading to Cheltenham today.. This is the last Tattersalls Cheltenham Sale of the year after racing.. so looking at the horses this morning..Please ring if you fancy an early Christmas present?
I am making no judgment on the Frost/Dunne case bar it should not have come this far.. The BHA took too long to sort and as a result racings integrity has been substantially impaired
We live in a world when it is trial by media and every sport is suffering. Change is needed but it is sad that the whole saga has been played out in such a public way..
To finish I would like to wish Nicky Henderson a very happy 71st birthday and Will Hodkinson a very happy 21st birthday.. Will made the headlines with his adored First Flow last Sunday..
On the roller coaster of life, your 21st birthday is like being at the top of the first giant hill with your hands in the air and no lap bar.
"When I was a boy of 14, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be 21as astonished at how much he had learned in seven years." -Mark Twain..
