What a fabulous run by Paul and Clare Rooney’s The Last Samuri in yesterdays Crabbies Grand National.. yes I hate being second but.. If only.. The dream nearly happened.. Click here to watch the race again..
We are all so proud of our little horse who jumped those fences like a gazelle and tried his huge heart out.
A fabulous ride from David Bass who understandably was gutted to be beaten.. he also dreamed for a while!!
Thorndale is a team effort and I am so proud of all my staff..all that work.. top team..
The good news is that TLS is fine this morning and will be parading at the Cotswold Point to Point/Andoversford Races this afternoon.
Second is not a good place to be but I am thrilled for Mouse Morris.
Mouse is a mate who I have stayed with many times over the years and if there was a good story to be told it was that Mouse was to win this great race..
Mouse has had terrible tragedy last year when loosing his son Tiffer in a tragic accident and this win was meant to be.. deliverance from above?
The ground was very soft yesterday but all the runners came back safely.. A great day, a great result and Mouse my friend.. well done.. see you next year.
