Plus 4 and dry at Thorndale..

Halligator ran well and was second at Huntingdon..

Extraordinary horse as when he races he races with his head almost on the ground. Thankfully (for his jockey) when he sees the guard rail of the hurdle he raises his head and his legs at the same time and jumps for fun.

Johnny Burke said he has never ridden a horse with such a low head carriage. JB was very complimentary about Halligator in his post race video.

We were really thrilled with Law Of Supply at Chepstow.  He ran a blinder to finish 4th in the bumper, he was not beaten more that 3 lengths and was running on..We have never looked at him as a bumper horse more of a staying hurdler/chaser.

Big day for his owners Jane Lay and family.. It was Jane's husband Andrew who asked me to buy him a potential chaser but sadly he never lived long enough to see yesterdays run. He would have so enjoyed watching his horses gutsy performance... his family certainly did.

They now have all summer dreaming of the future..'The Andrew Lays Legacy' is up and running…

Lauren Keen-Hawkins who rides Dandy Dan at Exeter today warmed up with a third on Inca Rose in a point to point somewhere in deepest Wales..

Back here at the jolly GR life carried on as normal..well what I have become partially used to..

Martin F-G made a huge effort to come and take cocktails with me late yesterday morning.

Martin lives the other side of Malborough so a good journey. So please to see him as I have not seen for ages.

Thanks Martin for coming along and I hope I did not give the impression I was sedated?

Mat also called in on his way down to Chepstow to saddle LOS.

Although we speak regularly on the phone it was good to see him and have a face to face catch up. Mat is doing a such a great job of holding the fort.. Thorndale is in very good hands. I am lucky we have such a top team..

David Bass rang to ask if he could call in last night, but when I said there was no need as Costa C was closed and I am in a ward that does not allow visitors he was quick to say that’s a relief as he was stuck in heavy traffic trying to leave Wales.. seems many folk were doing the same. Try again David..

We have no runners today.. This weeks movers and shakers in the BHA handicap charts were Hurlerontheditch down 1 to 112, Shantou Express down 3 to 125 while Two For Gold goes up 4 to 154
