Plus 15 and windy when driving in.. Yes plus 15 at 5.30am!

Bloody hell David Bass.. You have ridden  another winner for us.. 7 in a week.. Abbreviate absolutely annihilated his field in the novice hurdle yesterday at Southwell.

Keith and Liz Ellis’s horse was not winning out of turn as he always showed that he had ability and we were miffed that he was beaten in his bumper, but the winner went on to win again, and then he should have won on his first hurdle race at Warwick but was too free and as a result did not jump that well.

Abbreviate had sore shins after his last run and Jim Wilson helped by letting us swim him for a few days after.

Yesterday he was still free enough but the soft ground settled him and he powered home by 19 lengths. Great for his owners Keith and Liz Ellis (whose last trip to Southwell was dire) , and for Aiden Murphy who advised Keith to buy him.

King Simba ran well too. He jumped the last in third place and just tired on the ground.. he will be winning for his happy team who are helping raise money and awareness for the GSTTKPA Charity.

Kalanisi Glen and The Last Samuri worked this morning.

Tuesday is the day Graham Potts comes in for his weekly vet visit and the handicapper does his weekly reassessment. This weeks movers and shakers are … Faerie Reel down 3 to 123, Twelve Roses up 6 to 143, Net Work Rouge up 13 to 133, Milord up 8 to 125 and Kilty Caul enters at 115..The handcapper is not happy with us..

I left early to Huntingdon driving the horsebox. We have two runners there and one tonight at Wolverhampton on the all-weather. Younevercall and Flemensmix with David Bass aboard head to Huntingdon and Sunblazer and Willie Twiston Davies head to Wolverhampton.. For my thoughts on their chances please click here.
