12th August 2016

Plus 14 and dry when driving in.

The glorious 12th..

Fun racecourse Stratford, although not a great one for viewing, especially when they had what looked like a caravan convention going on in the middle of the racecourse; but having said that the big screen was good.

Sadly Kilty Caul did not improve for the step up in trip and now her future as a racehorse is in doubt. This good looking mare would have a great future in another discipline.

Tom Bellamy was into ride out a couple of lots..

John Morris was with us early this morning to discuss our horses for his annual book Jumping Prospects.

Ashley Ede was here with 6 Wuhan University students who are over at The Royal Agricultural University on a equestrian course. They had a tour around the yard and a talk from me on training and horse management and what we do to produce fit horses to race.

Douglas and Sylvia Wilkes were here third lot to see their two KBRP horses Ascotdeux Nellerie and Silver Kayf. Peter Kerr here too.

Rodney and Moira Stoneman were here late morning to see their KBRP horse Knockanrawley

More medals in Rio..Team GB going well.

We are now looking to emply a second travelling person.. If you have experience in racing and would like to take up a position as our second travelling person behind Leigh Pollard, please get in touch. A clean driving license, good work ethic, tidy, responsible and someone who can turn horses out to our high standard. Non HGV to drive a two stall JSW horsebox If that is you then come and join our happy team..

Just a quick note to finish on.. Bad news for owners and trainers is when you loose a horse. Always a tragedy. If insured through Weatherbys Hamilton you will always find Richard Chugg descrete and helpful..

Lesson 5 in life..

A little bird was flying south for the winter. It was so cold the bird froze and fell to the ground into a large field.

While he was lying there, a cow came by and dropped some dung on him.

As the frozen bird lay there in the pile of cow dung, he began to realize how warm he was.

The dung was actually thawing him out!

He lay there all warm and happy, and soon began to sing for joy. A passing cat heard the bird singing and came to investigate.

Following the sound, the cat discovered the bird under the pile of cow dung, and promptly dug him out and ate him.

Moral of the story:

1) Not everyone who shits on you is your enemy.

(2) Not everyone who gets you out of shit is your friend.

(3) And when you're in deep shit, it's best to keep your mouth shut!
