Plus 11 and dry when driving in.

Richard Blundel from Winchcome Radio was here late morning to discuss the Jumps season from our perspective.

The Fifth and final Ashes test starts today at The Oval. Yes we have lost, but the score sheet would look a great deal better if we draw the series.. Hope eternal?

It will be the last test for Sir Ian Botham and David Gower..

I received a shocking text from Kevin Clancy yesterday morning informing me that his brother Dermot had been killed the evening before while driving his tractor.

When I say shocking, I mean utterly shocking as I have known Dermot for years and he had become a really good mate.

Not only was Dermot a wonderful owner who knew how to enjoy life and his racing.. The Rainbow Hunter and currently Two For Gold but he was also just bloody good company

Dermot, like his brother Kevin, were fun to be with. Their box at Ascot was a must call in place and always full of family.

Always seeing the funny side of life. Dermot was a hard worker who was hugely successful in the family business.

Most recently we had fun days out at the first Ireland Lords Test and then I spent a weekend with Dermot and Vicky in their house in Cattistock.. They asked me down to stay for their local show.. He loved Dorset.

The Clancy family are the closest knit family I know and yesterdays news was just shocking.

I shall miss his company enormously and our deepest thoughts go out to his family, friends and his wife Vicky.  He will be hugely missed.. A true family man..
