Plus 9 and raining when driving in.

Ludlow and Taunton were both very quiet.. Hardly anybody there.. mind you only 45 people were allowed..

I was at Ludlow where Winter Glory finished down the field.. He was very green and will have learnt a great deal for the experience.

Mat was at Taunton where Rose To Fame found the ground softer than she liked.. She is a true top of the ground horse. Anyway it was her last chance to try and add to her wins total and now she heads off to Ireland and stud duties..

Record prices at Goffs Sales yesterday.. Staggering. Jonbon, the own-brother to the star Chaser Douvan, set the sale ring alight when selling for £570,000 – a world record for a pointer sold at public auction.

Friday morning.

Graham Potts here early.

Ashley from Willis Bros here revamping my schooling fences.

Friday of the three day Cheltenham meeting and today is The Countryside Day.. One of my favourite days racing of the year.. Huge crowds and great entertainment.. Different this year as 45 people only allowed and those who are able to go will rattle somewhere in the stands..

Big day for Southwell Racecourse as they start racing again over jumps. They have had all sorts of problems with their chase course and especially with the shape of their fences… The course has run trial races and there has been very positive feed back.. Racing starts today..Thankfully there are not superstitious… Friday 13th.. Good luck to them as I like Southwell.

We have one runner there today.. The Bull McCabe heads there and young Harry Beswick has his first ride for us.. Chester Williams and Ciaran Gethings are off games today. We also have a runner at Cheltenham .. Does He Know. For my thoughts on their chances please click here.

My stable tour was in yesterdays Racing Post.. This is something that usually misses me and you sort of forget why.. I don't choose the horses they want to talk about so many are left out, and that always causes problems..

Emma B, like so many has been doing her bit on the vaccine trials….She sent me this..

Hi all. I wasn’t allowed to say anything until today, but it's now okay for me to share that I have volunteered for the Covid-19 vaccine trials that Imperial College are running in partnership with Oxford University.

It's important that we all do our part to beat this virus.

The vaccine is the one that has been developed in Russia.
