Plus 10 and drizzling when driving in… We look set for a wet day.

It was not wet yesterday.. The only water seen was in the bottle I was allowed to have when celebrating Does He Know's fabulous win in the Ballymore Grade 2 novice hurdle at Cheltenham.. No alcohol to be taken on a racecourse.. Not ideal, but it did not diminished from DHK’s great win. To watch the replay

Muted celebrations yes but Alan James and David Shuttle who were the two owners allowed in had a fab day..

Another great day for one of Peter Kerr's KBRS..

'The Yes He Does Syndicate' were all having their second Cheltenham winner..Richard and Sara Fabian, Alan and Sally James, Mark and Melinda Laws, Karen Masters, David and Shantha Shuttle, Peter and Fiona Woodhall, Harry and Sandie Taylor, Rodney and Moira Stoneman, Vince Burmingham, John and Pat Lee and Gillian Clough..

Sadly The Bull McCabe did not run that well.. there will be other days for him.

Postscipt of the days.. No tie for NJH.. a first?

Saturday morning and about 30 people here to see their horses on the way to the races.. Remember those days? Added by 10 CD Tours for a Morning on the gallops and breakfast.. How we miss you all..

We have two runners today at Cheltenham, although neither would want very soft ground.. Shinobi and Dandy Dan head there, while Yesandno, Rosmuc Relay and Party Fuzz head to Uttoxeter.. For my thoughts on their chances please click here.

John Battershall sent this over.. Please don’t be too shocked..

Went for a walk with my new girlfriend and we saw two dogs mating, she said. "How does the male know when the female is ready for sex?"

I replied. "He can smell she is ready thats how nature works!"

We then walked past a sheep field and the ram was mating the ewe, again my girlfreind asked how the ram knew when the ewe was ready for sex.

I  replied."its nature he can smell she is ready."

We then went past a cow field and the bull was mating the cow, my girlfriend said. "This is odd they are all at it, surely the bull can’t smell when she is ready?"

I said. "Look its nature all animals can smell when the female is ready for sex."

Anyway, after the walk I dropped her home and kissed her goodbye, she said. "Take care and get yourself checked for Covid 19."

Surprised, I asked her why she feels that way.

She said. "I think you seem to have lost your sense of smell."

Have a great weekend..

The good news is that Mat has repaired his tyre.. stuck on the motorway for most of last night waiting for the RAC to take it off his blown one and put the spare on.. call himself a man??!
