Minus 3 and dry when driving in.
The weather gods might have read it wrong, but the racing gods certainly did not..
Tuesday is always the best of the 4 days of the Festival (like Royal Ascot) and yesterday it surpassed all the greatest of our expectations.
Constitution Hill was by far the best Champion hurdler winner I have ever witnessed. He never came off the bridle and won as far as he wanted ..
...but then he walked into the hallowed unsaddling enclosure like a child’s pony unfazed and un fussed by what he had just achieved. Extraordinary.. . Cool heads trained and rode this Champion
As if that race could not be peaked .. it was when Honeysuckle got up to win the Mares hurdle.
60 thousand racing fans went wild. Honeysuckle, Rachael Blackmore and Henry de Bromhead have ridden the dreams, but what a way this amazing mare to bow out.
There were of course other races and other winners, but those two will live in the memories of all who were there to witness and I am sure the many thousands who watched on TV.. The scenes in the winner's enclosure after Honeysuckle's win were totally extraordinary and hugely emotional.. wow.... The rest of the meeting will be an anti climax!!
No fairy tale for us. Happygolucky ran well but his jumping was not as slick as it could be..
Wednesday morning brings in David Bass and Ciaran Gething to ride out.

Ian Robinson of Imperial Racing was here to see his Halligator, Imperial Hurricane and Imperial Admiral
