Yesterdays Goff’s Landover Sales were staggering .. Another record breaking sale..Up 26% on last year and the average price was Euros 43,394,00.
I bought two lots .. Lot 14 a stunning Presenting Filly with a great pedigree and Lot 38 a Shantou Gelding.. Both horses are great athletes and both could be horses who might be forward enough to be aimed at next years Euros 100,000.00 Landover Bumper at Punchestown.. Yes both horses are for sale.
The quality of horses was such that you felt you were in a sweet shop.. all you wanted was to have more.. Mind over matter and thinking life would be cheaper I left the sale early I caught an earlier flight home..
Cheaper to come away with two than stay and buy more?
All three horses will be coming over on the ferry today and will head straight to Martin Jones to be broken in.
The sale continues today and although the second day is not normally as strong as the first but I still feel it will be well up on last year.
A quick note to thank Irish Thoroughbred Marketing for all their help with re sorting my travel plans and for Charles O'Neill driving me to the airport.. They are so helpful when we come over to Ireland..
Semi finals of the Champions Trophy today at Cardiff. England play Pakistan..
We have no runners today.
I am a bit short on jokes...
A Russian, an American, and a Blonde were talking one day.
The Russian said, 'We were the first in space!'
The American said, 'We were the first on the moon!'
The Blonde said, 'So what? We're going to be the first on the sun!'
The Russian and the American looked at each other and shook their heads.
You can't land on the sun, you idiot! You'll burn up!' said the Russian.
To which the Blonde replied, 'We're not stupid, you know. We're going at night!'
