It was a delight to go round the yard last night looking at the horses.. They looked so happy and relaxed, as did my staff..
Cooler in the barn than being outside in the sun… No need for rugs on the horses and shorts very much the order of the day for the team...Very hot outside, but a cool breeze wafted through the barns.
Mia White was in the yard last night, as she is most nights at this time of year....Mia is our Physiotherapist and she will look at every horse and trot it up, and make notes.. she pulls and massages the horses in areas that need looking at and then shows my team how they can help with making horses stretch.. carrots are a great help in those situations..
I spoke to son Harry this morning who said Sydney was wet.. That was probably an understatement when you read the news here about the floods in and around Sydney.. Lucky chap is going to the SCG this weekend to watch The Wallabies take on England..
Shortly after take off on an Aer Lingus flight from Dublin to Boston a few weeks ago, air hostess nervously announced that the catering department made a terrible mistake. A big mixup she said.
Although 226 passengers on board they received only 80 dinners. She apologised but said that anybody who is kind enough to give up their meal to somebody who is hungry would receive free unlimited drinks for the remainder of the flight.
The next announcement came 2 hours later when she said, ' If anybody is hungry we still have 80 dinners available.
