Plus 11 and dry when driving in.

It was fast enough ground at Uttoxeter.. Good and good to Firm.. We decided to let Inflagrante run as it was rather last chance saloon after 2 very disappointing runs last season..

David and Virginia Johnson live very close to Uttoxeter and were keen to see him run….

All very well and good to say that he works well at home, but the racecourse is the ultimate proof and yesterday we all came away far happier than when we arrived.. Inflagrante ran a blinder and finished second..

I bumped into Henry Daly yesterday who was the bearer of sad news on his star horse Hillcrest..Patience and time.. two racing virtues..

We have our usual Gallop Mornings today with Paul King, Dale Marshall and Hugh Dorrian here to enjoy the morning thanks to a winning donation from Chris Smith who was unfortunatley not able to attend. Chris won this lot with his kind donation to the Greatwood Charity Raceday Auction.

Joe Goldring brought his parents along to meet his KBRS horse Let's Go Amigo.

Chris Hill was also here to see his KBRS horses Parc dÁmour and Phantom Getaway

Paul Goring and brother were here 4th lot to see their horse The Kemble Brewery

Great days racing at Ascot.. Champions day.. Will Baaeed make it 11 not out?

Another record sale in Newmarket Book 3..

We have two runners today. Samatian runs at Stratford and Design Icon runs at Newton Abbot and for my thoughts on their chances please click here.

To end..

We are in drought conditions in the UK but in Australia they are having record rains and this is causing havoc..These racehorses needed rescuing..

Have a great weekend and see you on Monday..

Happy birthdays to Sir Francis Brooke and Henry Daly
