Plus 6 and dry when driving in.

Last night it was simply dreadful here . The rain was lashing down and the wind was strong enough to suggest we closed the barns doors..The drive when I went home was like a torrent.

David Bass was in this morning. We worked a few.

Cherry Jones was here second lot to watch horse Inca Rose perform.. Ian Emes also was here.

Third lot Andy Nixon was here to see the Dansant gelding.

Julie Crissell and Christopher Henn were here to see the Schiaparelli x Bisaat gelding

Mark and Melinda Laws were here to see their horse Shanacoole Prince  and their KBRP horse Does He Know

In today racing news. BHA chief executive Nick Rust is stepping down at the end of the year.

5 years in charge and he has seem many things good and bad happen to our sport.There is still much to do too.

Nick's appointment in 2015 was much seen as a poacher turned game keeper.  Nick formerly worked in the betting industry and what he has brought to the table from that industry has certainly helped, even if many disagree..

We hope to have three runners today at Newbury. An 8 am inspection.. Keith Ottesen was hopeful when I spoke to him last night.. If it goes ahead we run Fubar, Mon Palois and Party Fuzz.. For my thoughts on their chances please click here.
