Plus 11, windy and dry when driving in.

Yesterdays racing was emotionally exhausting..

Vinndication nearly fell and finished 5th. Beaten in a photo for 4th. Shame. On paper a good run. Owners dream of a Cheltenham runner and much to look forward to. Charbel was never happy and pulled up, while Diamond Gait was flat out and finished the same distance behind the horses she ran against in the listed mares hurdle at Newbury. All three are OK this morning; there will be other days for all three horses.

Frodon. Bryon Frost. Delighted for Paul Vogt and Bryony as the emotion of the moment was sent round the country after some wonderful interviews.

Andrew Gemmell and Paisley Park and then finally Noel Fehily announced that he was about to retire. A tearful Racing UK interview.

What a day, and in between Lizzie Kelly won the race we won with Darna some years ago and showed what a good trainer Nick Williams is.. His record at Cheltenham takes some beating.

Staggering prices at the Tattersalls sales last night. Ed Bailey bought a horse..A new horse here and new owner.

'Cash, check or charge?' I asked, after folding items the woman wished to purchase.

As she fumbled for her wallet, I noticed a remote control for a television set in her purse.

'So, do you always carry your TV remote?' I asked.

'No,' she replied, 'but my husband refused to come shopping with me, and I figured this was the most evil thing I could do to him legally.'
